I'm Alyssa, and around here, they call me the Tick Chick.

But this isn't just a business to me—it's personal.

Years ago, when I was a young child, my dad, Mark started having terrible joint pain. Some days he could barely move and we would find him soaking in ice baths.  My mom took him from doctor to doctor, but nobody could figure out what was wrong. It went on for years—years of suffering without answers.

It wasn't until much later that he finally got the diagnosis: a positive IgG Western Blot blood test confirmed what had been stealing my father's health all along. Lyme disease. One tiny tick bite that went unnoticed had turned our lives upside down for over a decade.

Watching dad suffer like that—while trying to raise a young family and build a business—changed something in me. I never wanted another family to go through what we went through. The endless doctor visits. The pain. The years of not knowing.

That's why I became the Tick Chick.

But ticks aren't the only thing driving families indoors. Mosquitoes turn summer evenings into a battle. They chase you off your own deck, leave your kids covered in itchy welts, and carry diseases of their own—West Nile, EEE, Zika. Between the ticks lurking in the grass and the mosquitoes swarming at dusk, families were losing their backyards to these pests.
